I appreciate the doctor’s honesty regarding the limitations of current treatment options for my lower leg bilateral pain. But I found it discouraging to be told to stop going to doctors. I brought up the DRG to get his opinion. He said there is a possibility it might help. I went to the appointment to ask about DRG. It was a second opinion. I also felt my frustration after decades of severe pain was interpreted as hostility rather than as the understandable reaction of a long-term pain patient. I think when a woman is direct it is ‘read’ as hostility.
