She was very considerate of my hopes / wishes for labor & delivery all the while balancing the associated risks and being thoughtful about the big picture. There was a PA student with the doctor and I gave my consent for the student to be in the room. I did not realize however that the student would be performing my pelvic and breast exams. That should be specified when asking the patient for consent. I would have preferred the student observe only. The doctor also performed both exams and one pelvic exam is bad enough, never mind two.
