I informed the doctor that my child had been sick for over four days with this cough. Her brother had the same thing two weeks ago. Neither of them were prescribed any medication. While I understand, there are differences between viruses and bacteria, both were absolutely miserable with a cough and runny nose. I did not ask for antibiotics but anything to try to help them feel better. Tylenol and allergy medication was not working. I was basically told they had to suffer through their sickness. I expressed my worries about having to take off multiple days from work and was basically told it is parent’s job to miss work take care of their kid. She was extremely condescending and unfriendly. She barely spent five minutes in the room. I felt like she was judging me for asking questions. She told me to bring my daughter back in if she was feeling poorly, and her fever did not break. I asked if there were a possibility for a prescription to be called in instead of having to come back; nope.
