I wish I would have received a report on my surgery. I did not talk to Dr Bartel afterwards. He spoke to my husband. A written report of what was done would have been helpful. The post op notes were generic.

Dr. Bartel is awesome! Not only did he work me in to a schedule for surgery on a day he wasn’t operating, he gave me peace of mind answering the medical questions that I had. Yesterday I had a left foot bone fusion surgery performed by Dr Bartel. I've been seeing him for over 2 years for for foot arthritis pain and while the shots in my feet every 3 months helped, the pain was starting to come back after 2 months so he recommended this surgery. He's super nice and very professional every time I see him and explains things very well. I was also very impressed with he surgical floor in the S building. If I hadn't known better I would have thought I was at Delnor. It was like a real hospital and all the nursing staff were super nice and helpful. Great experience over all except for the pain and nausea post surgery but they gave me medication for both and I'm feeling so much better today. It's going to be a long recovery (12 weeks) but I'm hoping in a few months I can walk pain free or at least without as much pain as prior.

Dr. Bartel uses leading-edge surgical and non-invasive techniques to treat everything from arthritic conditions and foot deformities to traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.
It is Dr. Bartel’s primary goal to get patients back quickly to a pain-free, active lifestyle with minimal to no restrictions. Surgery is only an option when necessary, with physical rehabilitation and/or anti-inflammatory therapies (such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), cortisone or viscosupplementation injections) used when possible.
A Fox Valley resident for the last 25 years, Dr. Bartel actively supports the community and participates in various fundraisers and events.
