Zakaria Sheikh, M.D., is an Interventional Pain Medicine Physician who specializes in pain anywhere that it may present in the body. He has extensive experience in treating headache, back pain, peripheral joint pain/non-surgical orthopedics, sports injuries, neuropathic pain, CRPS, and cancer related pain amongst other conditions.
He also has a particular interest in regenerative medicine. He specializes in PRP therapy and orthobiologics, amongst other regenerative techniques. He offers a holistic approach, with treatments ranging from conservative therapies to highly advanced interventional techniques where his main goal while treating you is to minimize your pain and increase your function as well as quality of life.
Dr. Zakaria Sheikh attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelors degree in both Biology and Philosophy. He attended St. George's University SOM where he completed his Medical Doctorate. Dr. Sheikh completed his Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in New York City in the One Brooklyn Health Hospital System. He then went on to complete his Fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital where he trained in the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care in Interventional Pain Medicine. Dr. Sheikh collaborated extensively with world leaders in pain medicine, sports medicine, orthopedics, and neurosurgery achieving mastery in a wide breadth of interventional pain management techniques.
In his free time Dr. Sheikh enjoys playing soccer, watching motorsports, traveling to new cities, trying new foods, hiking, going to the beach, playing fantasy football, and discovering new music. He is a big UGA football and Arsenal FC fan. His favorite soccer player of all time is Ronaldinho. His favorite place to visit is Casablanca Morocco where he has a second home.
