Dr. Zachary Sumpter, D.O., was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, where a strong sense of community shaped his commitment to serving others. Before medicine, he worked as a software engineer — an experience that sharpened his analytical skills. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Pikeville and completed his residency at ETSU Family Medicine in Bristol.
Dr. Sumpter takes a whole-person approach to primary care with a focus on building long-term, trust-based relationships. He has a particular interest in managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, combining evidence-based medicine with care plans tailored to each patient's individual goals.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sumpter enjoys spending time with his family, staying active outdoors, and serving his local church community.
