Dr. Yitzak Fox, D.O., is an Orthopedic Surgeon who is fellowship-trained in Adult Reconstruction. He specializes in total hip replacement and total knee replacement, including revision surgery when an earlier joint replacement wears, loosens, or becomes infected. He is also trained in robotic arm-assisted partial and total knee replacement. Dr. Fox sees patients in Macon and Warner Robins.
Dr. Fox earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Larkin Community Hospital. He then pursued an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Colorado Orthopaedic Research Institute, where he subspecialized in primary and revision hip and knee replacement.
Fellowship training in adult reconstruction means an additional year devoted entirely to hip and knee replacement. That year covers first-time joint replacement as well as the revision surgery a patient may need years later, whether from ordinary wear, infection, or loosened hardware. It is the kind of subspecialty training patients often expect to travel to Atlanta for.
Dr. Fox is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. He performs surgery at the OrthoGeorgia Surgery Center and is affiliated with Medical Center Atrium Health Navicent, Emory Hospital Warner Robins, and Emory Hospital Perry.
Dr. Fox is a third-generation physician. His grandfather and his father both practiced medicine, and a lifelong interest in sports led him to orthopedics. He and his wife relocated to Central Georgia from Denver and chose the area in part for its closeness to family in Florida and the Carolinas. Outside of work, they enjoy traveling and exploring Central Georgia.
Dr. Fox is the only fellowship-trained adult reconstruction surgeon serving the greater Central Georgia area.
