Growing up in England, Dr. Amin began playing soccer and swimming when she was young. She developed an appreciation for sports medicine providers and their role in caring for athletes and physically active individuals. She decided to pursue a career in sports medicine as she knew it could be the perfect blend of interest in athletics and medicine. Upon graduating from Boston University, where she completed her undergraduate degree, she spent time in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound research at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The research allowed her to evaluate rotator cuff injuries due to repetitive overhead sports in elite athletes of the 2008 USA Olympic Swim Team. Through this work, she became interested in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Following residency, she chose to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine to implement ultrasound into her practice and become more specialized. Dr. Amin enjoys performing both ultrasound-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, knowing these skills have improved the care she provides to patients. “Being able to follow a patient’s progression and serve as an integral part of their journey to becoming a healthier version of themselves” is what Dr. Amin says inspires her work ethic. She firmly believes exercise is medicine and promotes wellness by encouraging patients to be physically active.

Dr Amin was wonderful! I came to her because I had trauma to my right shoulder which after 10 days was no better. I thought it was time to have my shoulder checked out. After looking at the X-rays of my shoulder and giving me a thorough shoulder exam she came up with some options to get on the road to recovery. Luckily there were no broken bones even though at times the pain was at #10 level. She administered a cortisone injection in the exact area. I am not great at receiving injections. Her warm confident manor along with the cold numbing spray right before she did it made the experience quite OK for me. I was surprised we even had such a practice/EmergeOrtho care facility in Asheboro. I am so fortunate to have walked into the clinic and had her as my Dr.
She did an excellent job of answering my questions and explaining my issues. Hopefully soon my hip will feel much better. I appreciate the entire staff very helpful and friendly making me feel welcomed and well cared for too.
