Dr. Yaser Bassel, M.D. has called the Bay area home for over 20 years. He attended King high school in Tampa and went on to receive his degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Florida. He was recognized as a National Merit Scholar and graduated with honors. Following his undergraduate work, he then received his medical degree from the University of South Florida. While he was there, he was awarded the Faculty/Staff scholarship after his first year which is given to the top two students in the class.

He was also inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during his fourth year. In 2007, he completed his residency training in Urology at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. During his time there, he worked on several research projects and was published in several journals.
Dr. Bassel is a board certified urologist in Tampa, FL and has been with Advanced Urology Institute since finishing his residency in 2007. He treats a variety of urologic conditions including incontinence, prostate enlargement, stone disease, and urologic cancer with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery utilizing laparoscopy and the DaVinci robotic surgical system.
