Upon her graduation from medical school at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Wang was awarded the prestigious Stephen J. Ryan, M.D. Prize in Ophthalmology. More recently, she was chosen by the Eye & Contact Lens Association to be an American Academy of Ophthalmology Advocacy Ambassador in 2021 and received the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Resident Excellence Award in 2022.
During her training, Dr. Wang published on therapeutic contact lens use in ocular surface disease. She was also involved in research on crowdsourcing via Amazon Mechanical Turk to grade fundus photos for disease status of glaucoma and studied resident and program characteristics that correlate with performance on the Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program (OKAP). She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Eye and Contact Lens Association, the Cornea Society and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology.
