At the age of 12, a young Dr. William Stevens knew he wanted to be a doctor. When that dream was realized, he fell in love with the challenges and opportunities afforded by spine surgery. As a spine surgeon, he has the chance to have a life-changing impact on the lives of his patients by giving back to them, their quality of life.
Dr. William Stevens is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with his expertise in spinal disorders and received his Medical Degree from Brown University in Providence, RI. His post-graduate training includes a Fellowship in Spinal Deformity Surgery from UC San Francisco and Residency in Orthopedic Surgery and Internship in General Surgery from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The North American Spine Society, the Scoliosis Research Society and the Orthopaedic Surgeons Network of Arizona.
In addition to his numerous publications and presentations, Dr. Stevens has traveled to the Bahamas several times over the past 12 years for surgical missions to perform corrective surgery on children with spinal deformities.

It was a horrible experience, he was very condescending, I did not know I was supposed to go to PT and he treated me like I had just broke all the rules. He did not inquire about what was going on with my back, he did not investigate what kind of issues I was having, never touched my back and I did not feel he cared about my pain. He was just focused on me not doing PT. His bedside manner was terrible, I would not recommend him to anyone and I will not continue my relationship with him. I guess he doesn’t realize people have choices and I was never treated so poorly. Not a great experience!
Always a pleasure seeing Dr Stevens. Love the way He listens to you and takes his time explaining what needs to be done. Highly recommended.
There are not enough words to express the care that Dr. Stevens has provided to me over the years. His professionalism, compassion, patience, knowledge and understanding through two surgeries and aftercare are by far the best I’ve ever experienced. With my unique medical condition, I can’t imagine care without his input that I highly respect, trust, and admire. He is valuable to his patients and the Ortho Arizona group as a collective group! Thank you, Dr. Stevens.
Open and honest evaluation as well as very easy to discuss our concerns.
He had his mind made up about me and my pain before he walked in the room. I'm a vet so I am accustomed to questionable medical care.... but he made the VA look good! He touched my back for an all of 2 maybe 3 seconds. Rushed through the entire exam. I spoke only about half of what is specifically hurting in my spine and he wrote me off. I'm looking for answers, advice, perhaps a little help..but I got a 2 hour drive for a 5-10min conversation with Dr who made up his mind before meeting me... I am not going back.
