Dr. William Lawrence attended the University of Southern Mississippi before completing medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency in Kansas City, Missouri, where he met Dr. Patrick Boyett. Dr. Lawrence moved to Jackson, MS and worked as an orthopaedic surgeon there for 5 1/2 years.
Dr. Lawrence and Dr. Boyett founded OrthoSports Athens in 2011, and Dr. Lawrence moved to Athens in 2012. Dr. Lawrence is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Lawrence enjoys spending time with each patient and helping them improve their mobility and function. He practices general orthopaedics and focuses his practice on Total Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine, and Hand Procedures.
Dr. Lawrence enjoys spending time with his wife Lynn, son William, and daughter Claire. Bill is an avid outdoorsman who loves to hunt and fish. He also enjoys spending time at the farm he owns with Dr. Boyett.

Very good ‘bedside’ manner. Takes time to make sure you’re comfortable with the things he tells you. I appreciate that, my GP is the exact opposite! It was my last visit, but if anything else comes up I will always come back here. Thank you.

Dr. Lawrence explained in detail what was going on with my knees. He answered every question to my complete satisfaction, and was personable, professional, and very knowledgeable. He explained all treatment options available. I was impressed with Dr Lawrence and feel he will help me in reaching desired results successfully.
