Volunteering his time, enjoying our world-class mountains, helping our top Olympians chase the gold, and practicing his top passion: getting people like you back to doing the activities they love. These are the things that keep Dr. Sterett busy from dusk til dawn and beyond. For Dr. Sterett, it's about keeping you active and providing world-class care. All this in a community he's been part of for almost 20 years.
The world's most prestegious surgeons didn't end up in Vail by accident. As one of the country's top applicants, Dr. Sterett turned down fellowship training at some of our top institutions to accept a prestigious invitation to Vail's Steadman-Hawkins Clinic.
Following this world-class training, Dr. Sterett then completed a rare second fellowship in orthopaedic trauma in Switzerland and Germany. Why two fellowships? Dr. Sterett wanted the ability to treat the entire injury to the knee and shoulder, not only the soft tissues.
Soon thereafter, his mentors, Dr. Richard Steadman and Dr. Richard Hawkins, offered him the opportunity to guide the two-person Steadman-Hawkins Clinic to its current size and world-renown stature. During that time, Dr. Sterett was the managing partner and was among the busiest ACL and complex knee surgeons in the country.
Dr. Sterett has also had the honor of being the Head Team Physician for the U.S. Women's Ski Team since 1997. That's 20 years of treating the world's top skiing talent. He's on call every winter weekend, poised to react to any situation, from emergency midnight calls to emergency surgeries. Mikaela Shiffrin, Resi Stiegler, and the other incredible racers of the U.S. Team know that Dr. Sterett has the experience and knowledge to treat any scenario.
He also has a long and successful history of returning athletes to the NFL, NHL, MLB, and Euro Soccer Leagues. If there's a sport that's played professionally, Dr. Sterett has helped someone get back to it.
Locally, Dr. Sterett has donated his time and expertise to the local high schools of Eagle County for the past 14 years. You can see him on the sidelines almost every Friday night, ready to provide free medical care to our young athletes.
I saw Jonathan. I had a steroid knee injection. Addressed my concerns. I felt it couldn’t have gone better. Thank you.
Excellent care and thorough exam to diagnose my knee issue.
