Seemed abrupt and hurried. Did not take time to hear all our concerns about his PA and how the PA documented an ulcer on my patient portal. PA did not specify what kind of ulcer, location or whether current or past. Both the Dr and his PA always seem in a rush and not wanting to listen to concerns.

I've not seen Mr. Byrd in a year. Only his apprentice which I don't mind since Mr. Byrd has made it unequivocally known he refuses to do surgery on left knee knowing it needs to be done. I need to speak to the office manager on my next move. Tracey Klimczynski 757-738-3360. My right leg got infected, how I don't know as I was stellar in my recovery. Can't get any answers except." I will not do any future harm" maybe he's afraid that the same thing will happen & why would I want home to do next surgery with that mindset. I waited over a hour in packed waiting room to be seen w/infection and had an appointment that day

At Norfolk Academy, Dr. Byrd was a scholar and an All-American pole vaulter. He continued his athletic and academic pursuits at Princeton University where he majored in Biology and served as captain of the varsity track team. The team earned Ivy League championships and Dr. Byrd was repeatedly named to the All-Ivy League decathlon, heptathlon and pole vaulting teams. Dr. Byrd says that he always wanted to be an orthopaedic surgeon and while a resident at Duke, he developed a passion for the intricacies of adult reconstruction surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Byrd enjoys hiking with his wife Rachel, spending time with his children Claire (age 3) and Jackson (age 2), boating, fishing, and hunting.
