Very understanding, patient, even worked with my 6 year old granddaughter who wants to be a doctor so she watched my injection. He never pushes, like the older generation (my generation) of doctors did and he and I both know I need a total knee but he makes sure it's up to me! Great!

All the staff especially the nurse was rushing and seemed annoyed with my questions. I was told to pick up mri disc from hospital but they had it on the computer the whole time.

What I like about Dr. Byrd is the fact that he did totally objective analysis of my x-rays, spent time to explain them, and what they showed in terms that were easy to understand.

Had my right hip replaced by him & I have been walking & driving for over a month. I am also 83 yrs old. He is a miracle man to me. This was done on Jan 12, 2024.

8 days post op I started running fevers that went up and down up would get as high as 102. On calling the practice was told as long as it was not sustained for 24 hrs it was OK. My wife is an NP and noted urinary frequency and got an OTC test strip that showed 1+ WBCs. She called the practice on a Saturday and was told that they don’t treat UTIs. I have 3 thoughts on this. Surgeons should be able to evaluate and treat post op problems. 2. If she had not recognized it at what point would this practice have been concerned? 3 For those patients without PCP, going to a Patient First (not knowing why they had a fever), in pain and often not willing to wait in a waiting room and incur the additional cost, may not have been treated until it became a bigger problem. Some ideas. 1. Have an NP or PA on call who could take a better history than the fever wasn’t lasting 24 hrs and evaluate treat appropriately 2 be sure the patients are aware pre op that they should be prepared for this.
