Dr. Allison has been with Advanced ENT & Allergy since 2010. He is board-certified in adult/pediatric otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He truly enjoys and is proficient in all aspects of the ear, nose, and throat. His love for children and pediatric care is a large reason he chose this specialty, and as a parent, he knows how stressful it can be to have a sick child. He has a special interest in the medical and surgical management of sinus disease, and he fully understands the importance of addressing allergies as an underlying component of these problems. He is one of few ENT physicians in the area who has completed sub-specialty training/ certification to achieve fellow status in the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is fully certified and proficient in all forms of minimally invasive office-based nose/sinus procedures without the need for general anesthesia. He is certified and regularly performs in-office balloon sinuplasty, turbinate reductions, Vivaer procedure (for nasal valve collapse), and Rhinaer procedure (for chronic nasal drainage). Other areas of interest include the diagnosis and surgical management of thyroid, parathyroid, and salivary gland disorders. He is American College of Surgeons certified in head and neck ultrasound diagnosis and fine needle aspiration. Comprehensive airway and sleep evaluations for both snoring and sleep apnea are also a big component of his practice.
Dr. Allison is a firm believer in taking the time to listen to each patient’s concerns and perspectives in deciding on a mutually agreeable and effective plan for that patient’s care.
Though he was raised in Oklahoma and is still a diehard “Sooner”, Dr. Allison fell in love with the Louisville area and currently enjoys cheering on U of L Cardinal athletics throughout the year. His first love is his family – he and his wife Angela are proud parents of two girls. In his spare time, he also enjoys live music, working out, traveling, and skiing.

Wonderful bedside manner!
I didn’t feel like he believed me when explaining my past experiences with my sinus issue. He kept wanting to blame my coughing on my blood pressure medication which I have taken for years with no cough. Evidently I have to wait for 10 days and allow my issue to progress before getting the medication I need. I am already miserable after day 6. Kept urging me to come in for allergy testing follow up when I know that’s not the issue and finally gave me instructions for a CT scan - not sure I would ever go back. He was nice but missed the mark with me.
Very nice Dr, he listened to me and addressed my problem. He is very knowledgeable and profesional but still personable. Explained everything and was very caring. I highly recommend him.
Very pleasant and very informative. He really listened to my concerns!
With my results they could’ve called me instead of going in and wasting my co pay just to hear it’s negative.
He's chair side etiquette was not expected considering that I was referred to him for the 2nd time to seek true honest answers within his scope of speciality! I wouldn't recommend him to no one else, considering that both my daughter and I are still dealing with the same issues (how strange) I will continue use other specialist to assist my and daughter I (as paying patients) with true honesty answers! Not to forget the fact, how the energy shifted once we got to talking about insurance and my right as a patient to decline the same test that was already done at their other location! I then asked if we could order a test to look behind my ear drum and he proceeded to mention how the insurance won't pay for that, I then informed him that I have a new policy and it will pay for it considering that this new policy didn't pay for the previous test, plus it's been over a year anyhow. He then become very "urban" and defensive and instructed his assistant to show me to check out!
Dr. Allison listened to my concerns and addressed all my issues. I have a rather complicated history and he brought in another specialist to work with him on my case which my previous doctor did not do. I really felt like he was willing to do whatever it took to help me and I’m very appreciative.
My first time seeing Dr.Allison and he was so nice and knowledgeable.
Dr. Allison was both professional and welcoming in my first visit to his office. I look forward to having him as my doctor for future visits.
