Waqar Khan, MD, MPH, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Waqar Khan, M.D., is board-certified in cardiology and interventional cardiology. Dr. Khan is the Founder and the President of Lone Star Heart and Vascular Center in Tomball, Texas. He has built and run one of the most respected cardiology practices in suburban Houston, which has thrived for over 20 years. Dr. Khan performs advanced cardiac and vascular procedures at some of the area's best hospitals in Spring and Tomball.

Dr. Khan holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. He graduated from King Edward Medical College in Pakistan. His internship training was at St. Louis University Medical Center, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. Upon completing his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Dr. Khan completed additional fellowships in Vascular Medicine and Peripheral Vascular Interventions at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and the Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Louisiana respectively. He is Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Among his numerous awards and honors, Dr. Khan has been named one of Houston Top Docs every year by H Texas Magazine and Texas Monthly for several consecutive years. He recently published a best seller book titled "Be Heart Smart - Understand, Treat and Prevent Coronary Heart Disease" which is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other retailers. Copies are also available at Dr. Khan's office. He is proud to lend his extensive experience in peripheral vascular interventions, coronary angioplasty, carotid artery angioplasty, and stents to help his patients.
