Dr. Pinedo was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 1986. He was also admitted into the Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society.

After earning his M.D., Dr. Pinedo went on to complete an Internal Medicine internship at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania in 1990. He stayed in Pennsylvania for his Internal Medicine Residency, which he completed at Hahnemann University Hospital in 1994. Dr. Pinedo completed fellowships in both Critical Care (1996) and Cardiology (1999) at the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Pinedo has privileges at JFK Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center, Palms West Hospital, JFK North campus, Bethesda Hospital East, Bethesda Hospital West, and Select Specialty Hospital.
