Dr. Jermakowicz received his medical degree, as well as a doctor of philosophy in neuroscience, from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2012. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the largest academic spine practice in North America.
He also completed a fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. During his fellowship, he worked as attending neurosurgeon at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, focusing on treating disorders of the spine in veterans.
Dr. Jermakowicz is trained in both open and minimally invasive spine surgery, and his focus in functional neurosurgery allows him to offer novel treatments for back pain not in the repertoire of a typical spine surgeon, including spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal drug delivery pumps.
His pain practice includes the treatment of trigeminal and occipital neuralgias, and his movement disorders practice entails deep brain stimulation (DBS) for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia.
Dr. Jermakowicz’s ongoing research interests include the use of brain stem DBS for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.

His main comment was we want to avoid surgery if possible! Yes! That is my goal.
Very down to earth Doctor. Honest and helpful. Friendly too! Thank you.
Very conversational explaining what needs to be done
Nice guy. Very professional and takes time to answer your questions. I was happy with the results of the surgery and have no qualms recommending him.
Exceptional!, knowledgeable
He was very nice I liked him a lot very knowledgeable thank you
My kind of doctor. Before he entered the examining room, he had clearly reviewed the x-rays and MRI results and was totally prepared to discuss my case in detail. He explained his findings from both as well as his "hands on"" exam. Prescribed a course of Physical therapy, but added what to watch for going forward. If we encounter any of these things, told me to call and set up another appt. Inspired great confidence in his diagnosis. Can't say enough good. 5 stars!
I felt like I was listen too, and he acted like he was jenuling concerned about my condition. Thank you Dr. Jermakowicz.
Listened to me, let me know possible treatment options pending results of upcoming MRI.
My first visit to him was very good
