Education and Expertise
Dr. Harris received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. His orthopedic residency was spent at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. As an orthopedic sports medicine doctor, he has completed two orthopedic fellowships: one in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL, and the other for hip arthroscopy/preservation at the American Hip Institute in Chicago, IL. Combined with his Stryker Mako certifications in total knee and hip arthroplasty, Dr. Harris brings the most innovative treatments and techniques to EmergeOrtho—Blue Ridge Region.

Dr Harris and his team are very professional and organized. Also I feel like he listened more carefully than many doctors I’ve encountered. Lastly I like his detailed process as described pre-op through surgery.
I had a serious and complex injury to my left leg-my knee and the surrounding structures were badly damaged. The recovery has been long and tough, but thanks to Dr. Harris and the team at EmergeOrtho, l've come such a long way. They've supported me through every step, helped me make real progress, and always taken my concerns seriously. Even when l've felt frustrated or unsure, they've been patient, kind, and reassuring. I'm so thankful for the care, encouragement, and improvement l've experienced because of them.
Answered my questions well but rushed to get out of the room and I had to ask him to wait since I still had a few more questions.
Very thorough. Listens to the patient and assesses the xrays etc to develop gradual plan for recovery. Seems to consider all factors. Explains things well.
