Dr. W. Lee Richardson became interested in orthopaedics after he sustained an injury as a high-school athlete. His interest in helping others combined perfectly with his fascination for how the human body functions. Dr. Richardson enjoys helping his patients regain their independence and ability to interact with the world around them by treating their hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions.
Every patient is different. Dr. Richardson explains conditions and situations fully to each patient and involves them in the decision-making process. Most patients have a pretty good idea what their problem is and how it is affecting their life. Dr. Richardson believes his job is to guide them to the best solution for their particular situation. He helps his patients understand their condition so that they can make it better, together.
In his free time, Dr. Richardson enjoys being with his family and playing basketball. He is also involved in his children’s athletic pursuits and an active member of his church.

Wonderful doctor
He was friendly and explained the issue in a way we understood and could follow .
Dr.Richardson fixed my husbands thumb , no problems! I just fractured my wrist and the ER said find a dr to take you in. 5-10 days. Dr Richardson fit me into his busy schedule the next day! So thankful we have him here in Prescott. Good listener, never felt rushed.

Explained in great detail what was happening with my hand. Surgical repair worked and now I have use of my hand again.
I really appreciate Dr Richardson and how he communicates with me. He addresses my concerns, he doesn't talk down to me, and he usually tries to think outside the box when it comes to ways to take care of some of my problems. Definitely someone you want in your court when you're dealing with hand issues!
