Dr. Marinescu is probably the most personable doctor I have ever had in my 82 years of life. He is a warm friendly and kind physician. And he smiles more than any doctor I have had which is most welcome in today’s world. He is efficient,yet I feel the atmosphere is like sitting down and having a chat with a friend. I recently switched to Dr Marinescu because my last visit with my former cardiologist was like I saw the doctor on a Whistlestop tour. That same doctor ask me to come back in a year after having changed my medications by removing me from a diuretic because he looked at me and said I didn’t have edema. My opinion is that if he didn’t feel I had an edema he should have me go off the med and check in a few weeks to verify. In fact, I knew I have edema so I did not discontinue my diuretic, but rather went to my primary care doctor for advice while searching for a new cardiologist. Two other doctors suggested Marinescu so I scheduled w him and I'm definitely happy w my choice.

Not only is Dr Marinescu an absolutely brilliant Doctor but he is such a beautiful person with the biggest heart and he truly cares!!!

Dr. Victor Marinescu is a cardiologist at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Naperville.
Dr. Marinescu earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry with high honors in German at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He earned a doctorate of philosophy, cellular and molecular pharmacology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, where he also received his medical doctorate. He also holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration and management from the same university.
Dr. Marinescu completed his internal medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he also completed his clinical cardiology fellowship. He completed an additional year of fellowship with a focus on advanced imaging in coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA), 3D echo, transesophageal echocardiogram, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.
