Varinder Rathore MD.

Dr. Varinder Singh Rathore, M.D. is Double Board Certified by the ABPN (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry and an expert in treating the Mentally Ill-Chemical Abuse (MICA) patient. He was formally an Assistant Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Hospital in the Division of Substance Abuse. He is currently Chief of Mental Health at North Medical Group in Fishkill, NY.

Dr. Rathore brings over a decade of experience spearheading healthcare initiatives and community-based projects. He has been instrumental in initiating faith-based Health Fairs in Queens, NY and is a strong proponent of inculcating a strong mental health, addiction component and trauma work into the primary care outreach(es).

For over a decade, Varinder was Medical Director at Safe Horizon’s Streetwork Project where he provided harm reduction model of health care to homeless youth with mental illness and chemical addictions. He was involved in Thrive NY’s Mental Health Roadmap to provide mental health services to minority communities and is a speaker for National Association on Mental Illness (NAMI) and presenter/member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP).
