Dr. Minnal graduated cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University as a prestigious Centennial Scholar. She was the recipient of the Alana Wels Hirschorn Prize for the best thesis in Economics, and received departmental honors. She earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After a transitional internship year at the New York Presbyterian-Queens Hospital, she completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City.
