Dr. Patel came to Charlotte with her husband and three children in 2009 and has grown to love this city and its people.
She met her husband while in college at Washington University in St. Louis, and they both pursued their medical education and training in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from medical school, she decided to pursue pediatrics because it felt gratifying and fun! During Pediatrics training, she realized she missed adult medicine and opted to choose a subspecialty that would allow her to treat all age groups.
After completing a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Patel and her family moved to Houston, Texas for eight years, where she was in private practice. Once her husband’s training in Texas was completed, they felt Charlotte was a safe, comfortable and thriving place to raise their family.
