Dr. Patel came to Charlotte with her husband and three children in 2009 and has grown to love this city and its people.
She met her husband while in college at Washington University in St. Louis, and they both pursued their medical education and training in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from medical school, she decided to pursue pediatrics because it felt gratifying and fun! During Pediatrics training, she realized she missed adult medicine and opted to choose a subspecialty that would allow her to treat all age groups.
After completing a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Patel and her family moved to Houston, Texas for eight years, where she was in private practice. Once her husband’s training in Texas was completed, they felt Charlotte was a safe, comfortable and thriving place to raise their family. Dr. Patel has been in practice in Charlotte since 2009 and has since been involved in clinical research, patient care and pediatric resident education. Her areas of academic interest include life-threatening food allergy, non-immediate adverse reactions to foods, drug and vaccine allergy, asthma and rhinosinusitis. Her passion is teaching and developing great healthcare relationships with the families she meets.
Her favorite leisure activities are cooking, exercising, travelling and watching Friends with her kids.

We been with Dr. V. Patel 12 years and counting. She is just an Amazing doctor!! She is very knowledgeable with latest up to date medical information. I really appreciate how she helped us navigate the food allergy and seasonal allergies. Both my kids were able to out grow some food allergies and we did OIT (egg and peanut). Most importantly, she can relate and understand each individual with suggests/update new protocol in each phase of my kids life. My whole family sees her and very grateful to be under her care!!

Dr Patel was absolutely wonderful, both as a professional medical practitioner and as a (genuinely) interested and caring person. I’ve lived in the USA for 20 years and she’s the best doctor I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in all that time (appointment was for my teenager). Our only regret is not seeking her expertise sooner.
