Dr. Patel came to Charlotte with her husband and three children in 2009 and has grown to love this city and its people.
She met her husband while in college at Washington University in St. Louis, and they both pursued their medical education and training in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from medical school, she decided to pursue pediatrics because it felt gratifying and fun! During Pediatrics training, she realized she missed adult medicine and opted to choose a subspecialty that would allow her to treat all age groups.
After completing a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Patel and her family moved to Houston, Texas for eight years, where she was in private practice. Once her husband’s training in Texas was completed, they felt Charlotte was a safe, comfortable and thriving place to raise their family. Her passion is teaching and developing great healthcare relationships with the families she meets.
Her favorite leisure activities are cooking, exercising, travelling and watching Friends with her kids.
I usually don’t leave reviews because we’re always happy when we leave, but today was the opposite. My mom sat for an hour in the waiting room, sat a while in the patient room, and then the doctor never came back in after she told her to wait a minute. I get having pharmacy reps in the building, but my son’s health should come first.
Dr Patel was very thorough, personable, and a great listener.
She takes time to explain everything and cares about the patients long-term life
