This was not a good experience! After being brought to an exam room by a nurse or assistant(unsure what her title was ) I asked her as she was leaving if I should take the bandaid off my finger and she said I could but when I took it off it was bleeding and runny so she said I could leave it on so I covered it back up loosely so I could take it off quickly when the Dr came in. When Dr Shubenets came in and I started to take the bandaid off he said “I don’t understand you are coming to see a hand surgeon and the bandaid is still on”’then he walked out and went to his next patient! I was stunned to have a dr talk to me like that! First of all if the bandaid is supposed to be off the second he walks in the room then shouldn’t the nurse or assistant make sure of this and second of all the dr should never have said what he said out loud. I felt as if I was child being scolded for something that was not my fault!

Prep for steroid shot prevented any pain or discomfort. Trigger finger symptoms dissipated significantly in a few days. Suggested surgery as an alternative to a possible third future treatment for permanent results if I agreed, as the first shot lasted about 9 months.

What a great visit with Dr. Shubinets. He listened carefully to my symptoms and explained my options clearly! And the treatment that he provided was excellent. If I ever need care like this again, I will ask for him personally.
