She was Co-Director of Residency Training and Clinic Chief at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center for one year prior to entering private practice.
For over twenty years, Dr. Overton has built her practice through her commitment to provide every patient the highest quality of care with the utmost respect and compassion. She is frequently sought to provide second opinions for difficult or complicated ophthalmic problems.
Dr. Overton served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY for ten years and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Overton's experience, knowledge and expertise have earned her recognition as one of Westchester and Greenwich's Top Doctors for seven consecutive years. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmologic Society.
Dr. Overton has lectured on various Ophthalmology topics. She has a special interest in Bioethics and completed a Certificate Program in Bioethics through a joint program with Benjamin Cardozo Law School and Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center.

Valerie Overton is the best eye doctor I’ve ever seen. I feel that way because I have been a patient of hers for close to 40 years. She listens to you if you have any questions, she will answer them. She is simply the best.
