Valarie Overton, MD

Dr. Valarie Overton, M.D. is a Board-certified Ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She received her MD degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at Westchester County Medical Center. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center where she received comprehensive training in all aspects of medical and surgical ophthalmology. She was Co-Director of Residency Training and Clinic Chief at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center for one year prior to entering private practice.

For over twenty years, Dr. Overton has built her practice through her commitment to provide every patient the highest quality of care with the utmost respect and compassion. She is frequently sought to provide second opinions for difficult or complicated ophthalmic problems.

Dr. Overton served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY for ten years and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Overton's experience, knowledge and expertise have earned her recognition as one of Westchester and Greenwich's Top Doctors for seven consecutive years. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York State Ophthalmologic Society.

Dr. Overton has lectured on various Ophthalmology topics. She has a special interest in Bioethics and completed a Certificate Program in Bioethics through a joint program with Benjamin Cardozo Law School and Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center.
