Communication non existent. Overbooking-so many patients leaves very little time spent with patients. No follow-up and no recommendations for further treatment . They can’t help you they show you the door leaving you on your own. Very little compassion and empathy.

Tyson is a great Physician. He's confident in his work and always has a answer to your questions. I can't think of anything he is lacking. Good bed side manner, nice looking, and easy to speak to .

Orthopedic surgery was a clear path for Dr. Christensen to help people stay active and live the way they want. He said, “It is really gratifying to see the people you take care of return to the activities they love and excel at them after appropriate management.” His care philosophy is to find the best long-term solution with the shortest recovery. Sometimes, that means following conservative treatments like physical therapy; other times, surgery is the more appropriate route to the best outcome. Dr. Christensen is passionate about proper and safe
pain management. He understands the dangers of opioids and is very cautious when prescribing pain relievers. He uses many great techniques during surgery to minimize post-operative pain, including local injections and nerve blocks.
Dr. Christensen specializes in all areas of sports medicine, including; arthroscopy, ACL injuries, other knee ligament injuries, cartilage injuries, shoulder and elbow injuries and disorders, shoulder replacement, knee replacement,
hip replacement, fracture management, and general orthopedics. His special interest is in shoulder surgery ranging from arthroscopy to shoulder replacement.
Currently, Dr. Christensen provides medical coverage for local high school teams. He has previously covered hockey events in the NA3HL league and was also able to travel with the US Ski team to provide medical coverage during their training events in Ushuaia, Argentina.
Dr. Christensen first earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Weber State University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine, in which he was elected as a senior member of the alpha omega alpha (AOA) honor society. Following medical school, Dr. Christensen completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in 2019. During residency, he researched both sports and joint replacement problems published in the prestigious journals the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS) and the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM). He recently completed specialized training in sports medicine at the Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Dr. Christensen is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the American Academy of Orthopedics (AAOS) and is Board Eligible for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). When he isn’t working, he can be found with his wife and three kids playing at ball fields, exploring the outdoors, and enjoying each other’s company.
