Following his undergraduate studies, he completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, studying the biology and immunology of cancer. His time in clinical research provided an early appreciation for the practice of evidence-based medicine and the desire to continually improve the lives of the individuals he treats.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, he completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. There, he was trained in all aspects of musculoskeletal care including complex upper and lower extremity fractures at a level one trauma center, treated patients with athletic injuries alongside physicians of professional sports teams, and cared for pediatric injuries in children of all ages.
He went on to receive additional, intensive training in hand and microvascular surgery through an exclusive fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. This specialty training provided the opportunity to work with nationally recognized surgeons on all conditions from the shoulder to the fingertips.
As a native of Valparaiso, Dr. Miller takes great pleasure in being able to return and care for individuals in and around the community he grew up in. In his practice, he is dedicated to helping patients get relief and regain function after an injury or condition has impacted their lives. He strives to ensure that each patient has a thorough understanding of their condition and their treatment options, and he works closely with them through the decision-making process in developing the best care plan for each individual.

Friendly and professional! I highly recommend him !
Friendly and helpful staff. I was seen by Dr. Miler’s NP, who was kind, thorough and made sure I understood everything. Overall a great experience.
First time patient.. Great doctor! Would visit again & recommend.
Very professional and took the time to listen to all my questions and didn't feel rushed. Explained everything in detail.
Very nice and explains everything so you understand what is going on.
Basically told me I had arthritis because I was getting old. Told me my options were to get a cortisone shot or call my PCP for Meloxicam. Why couldn't he call in the Meloxicam, so I opted for the cortisone shot. His PA was extremely helpful as I was talking with him and explained things more thoroughly for me. Really nice guy!
Awesome! Thank you Dr. Miller
Very kind, informative, and helpful.
Very professional plus discussed pros and cons of surgery very well. Appreciated his kindness.
