Following residency, Dr. Stevens became a clinical fellow in orthopedic trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. His fellowship training had an emphasis on the management of high energy multi-trauma patients, complex peri-articular injuries, pelvic and acetabular fractures and post-traumatic reconstruction including mal-unions and non-unions. He trained in the management of fractures of the upper extremity including shoulder, elbow and wrist, as well as lower extremity injuries including the management of complex peri-implant and peri-prosthetic fractures and fractures of the hip, knee, ankle and foot.
The recipient of numerous honors and awards for leadership and scholarship, as well as community and volunteer service, Dr. Stevens also coauthored numerous research projects, presentations and articles in peer-reviewed publications throughout his education.
Dr. Stevens lives in Wilmington with his wife and daugther. He is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina and is excited to return back to the state to live and work. In his spare time, Dr. Stevens enjoys running, riding bikes on the city trails, golf and spending the day at the beach with his family.

He and the staff at the Brunswick Outpatient Center were fabulous every step if the way. They took time to explain things really well in advance and on the day of the procedure. They made our 4 year old patient very comfortable throughout. We got a friendly followup call the day after the procedure as well.
Chevy says his help was amazing and he should be a top star doctor because he does amazing surgery and he's never once missed checking on him or making time to see him in his follow ups visits.
Dr. Stevens is excellent. He is always responsive to me and provides meaningful treatment and alternatives. I highly recommend him and his team.
Excellent doctor and surgeon. Dr. Stevens provided excellent care for my mothers hip surgery and we are very grateful for his expertise provided throughout the entire process. From the initial consultation to the post operative care, Dr. Stevens has taken the time to throughly explain everything and answer all questions. The surgery itself went exactly as he said it would, as he performs this type of surgery quite often. We were amazed at how quickly she recovered. I highly recommend Dr. Stevens if you need hip surgery.

While on vacation, I had a bad bike accident, which resulted in multiple fractures around my tibia plateau and fibula. By good fortune, I found myself under the care of Dr. Stevens. Specializing in trauma cases, he clearly communicated the severity of my condition and proposed surgery options. His knowledge, experience, and calm personality put my mind at ease - and I made the decision to extend my "vacation" to put myself under his care. I underwent two major surgeries a week apart and received excellent post-op care and instructions. I'm now back home on the West Coast, and Dr. Stevens continues to assist, referring an excellent orthopedic surgeon to oversee my 12 weeks of post-op care. I'm looking forward to a successful recovery and am very grateful to Dr. Stevens and his team.
