Dr. Toure A. Knighton, M.D., has been recognized as one of Arizona's leading pain specialists for many years. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Driven by a profound commitment to alleviating patients' pain and suffering, Dr. Knighton utilizes a comprehensive, multimodal approach tailored to the unique needs of each individual. With over 15 years of experience, he joins The Pain Experts of Arizona, where his patient-centered philosophy prioritizes the distinct needs and concerns of those he treats.

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. Knighton grew up in Arizona, fostering a passion for both education and athletics. After achieving notable success in academics and sports at Tucson High School, he was drafted by the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, kicking off a professional baseball career. However, his aspiration to become a physician led him to the University of San Diego, where he continued his studies during the off-seasons, later transferring to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. Dr. Knighton completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine and a specialized fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Since returning to Phoenix in 2011, he has been dedicated to advancing pain management practices and enhancing his patients' quality of life.

Dr. Knighton believes in fostering a strong partnership with his patients, collaborating as a team to achieve the best possible outcomes. By educating patients about their conditions and available treatments, he empowers them to take an active role in their pain management journey, which leads to long-term relief.
