Following his fellowship training, Dr. Peterson returned to Iowa, where he currently serves on the faculty of special medicine at Des Moines University in addition to his duties at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Peterson is a sought-after lecturer both at the local and national level.
Dr. Peterson strives to educate, advocate, and provide outstanding care for every patient who entrusts him with their orthopaedic concerns. Outside of medicine, he is active in his church and enjoys spending family time with his wife and their children.

He is amazing! He explained everything in detail to me in perpetuation for knee replacement. All of my questions and more were answered. He is very kind and patient… didn’t rush thru the appointment with me. Gave me detailed expectations before , during and after surgery as well as therapy and healing. I can’t tell you how much at ease he made me feel. His nurse Krista is the best too!
