A native of Des Moines, Dr. Peterson earned his medical degree from Des Moines University. Following his fellowship training, Dr. Peterson returned to Iowa, where he currently serves on the faculty of special medicine at Des Moines University in addition to his duties at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Peterson is a sought-after lecturer both at the local and national level.
Dr. Peterson strives to educate, advocate, and provide outstanding care for every patient who entrusts him with their orthopaedic concerns. Outside of medicine, he is active in his church and enjoys spending family time with his wife and their children.

I appreciate his bedside manner and professionalism. I felt respected and felt I was listened to and had a good discussion with him on my knee consultation. He was very engaged with me and forthcoming with information and in giving answers to my questions. Filled all the boxes with my expectations of a health care provider. My experience lately with providers have not met my expectations so I’m thankful Dr Peterson has met that bar.
