Poor bedside manner. With clear evidence of herniated discs and intense numbing and pain, he sent me away with a “bummer you can’t take ibuprofen” because I’m allergic. No alternative solutions other than physical therapy and no real concern over the high level of pain and immobility this condition causes. His demeanor almost seemed like he didn’t believe what I was experiencing although we were looking right at the X-rays of the vertebrae pinching discs and the numbing and pain up and down my body. He left the room with “sorry you’re in pain” and that was it. This seems like a much more serious situation that required a clear game plan and an attempt to alleviate some of the pain as we explore that game plan. I left discouraged and depressed after waiting 2 hours to learn what I already knew and no clear medical guidance or solution.

Excellent doctor. He has helped my daughter the last 5 years navigate through knee problems that have prevented her from competing in her sport. He takes his time going over what’s the causes are, along with treatment options. We have greatly appreciated all he has done for my daughter over the years.

Dr. Petsche did a meniscus root tear repair for me on my left knee and I’m especially pleased with his care and the conversations we had leading up to it. Dr.Petsche did a great job preparing me for my surgery. He walked me through with a video ahead of Tim and explained exactly what he would be doing. He also gave me lifestyle suggestions for a quicker recovery and prepared me for what to expect after surgery. The level of respect he showed me and time he took explaining things was amazing.

Amazing doctor but super cocky. Needs to work on his bed side manner. I understand he needs to take his time when doing surgery i would expect nothing less. But when he came to see me before the surgery he was kind of mad right out the gate telling me this isnt mcdonalds... yea i get that but a little communication goes

Everyone in the Surgery Center was very nice and helpful, also the staff working in his office are very nice and helpful as well. And Doctor Petsche is a great Doctor he helps explain everything and will work with you in any way

Fantastic Doctor! Explains everything well. Has done both my shoulders and I'm very happy with the outcomes. I would strongly recommend him for shoulder work related to torn labrum, rotator cuff and arthritis clean up.

Dr Petsche staff and himself were so caring. He explained in great detail what he found wrong in the MRI in my knee and explained options and what he thought was the best option for me.

Dr Petsche is an amazing surgeon! He is excellent in diagnostics and digging to finding the cause of my shoulder pain using exam and arthrogram. He explained the treatment plan well, which took away any anxiety I might have. I had rotator cuff repair surgery that, so far, has gone smoothly.

Friendly, thorough, but arrived to see me 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. That’s too long.

My meeting with Dr. Petsche was informative; way too brief. He was very good and very knowledgable. I was initially very impressed. His options for my left knee were with little discussion and little details. His discussion on the knee injections left in me confusion and afraid. I am looking for more info and confidence in knee injections. At this time, I have no definite options or ideas. I am still open.

Best ortho doctor in the Chicago area. Specializes in sports medicine (shoulders & knees). He's an athlete and makes a point to stay current on all the latest research and techniques. I drive 45 min one way just to see Dr. Petsche. Have known him for 30 years and I send everyone I know to Fox Valley Orthopedics.
