Dr. Timothy L. Frerichs graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Frerichs completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of South Alabama, Orthopaedic Surgery Department and went on to complete double fellowship training in Foot and Ankle at Desert Orthopaedic Center under Dr. Troy Watson and Sports Medicine at the Andrews Institute under Dr. James Andrews.
Dr. Frerichs specializes in treating conditions of the foot and ankle, shoulder, knee and other sports related injuries. He also specializes in arthroscopy of the foot ankle knee and shoulder.
Dr. Frerichs was born in Pensacola but now calls Orange Beach home. He became interested in orthopaedics after having spine surgery at age 19. Dr. Frerichs and his wife, Cori, are raising three children Kiele, Mya and Chase. He enjoys weightlifting, SEC football, fishing and spending quality time with his wife and children. His family is involved in church and various sporting activities.

Started telling me Generic treatment without asking me what I had already done. My injury happened 7 wks ago and I have been in bed most of the time. It has healed a good bit. But he was telling men for my type of injury I needed to wear a boot at least 8 wks. I have been thru the boot stage. I wanted him to tell me current condition. I wanted MRI (7/16) analysis and a prognosis of how much longer til I healed. I pressed him for this. He was in a hurry. Looked at his l watch 2 or 3 times anxiously even after just a couple of minutes. One would think he had some terribly pressing emergency, almost like there was a bomb ready to go off in the next room that he had to hurry up and go to defuse. However he was a very nice man, very pleasant. And I did finally find out what was wrong with my leg/heel -Achilles tendon.appt was 10 min maybe. Afterwords he called in a therapist type person to come explain exercise therapy. She was excellent.
He tells you everything that is going on and what comes next. Very straightforward and I like that
