Exceptional treatment! Just had my post-op appointment. Admin staff are very considerate and friendly. Very happy with the outcome of my bilateral inguinal hernia surgery at the 2 week mark.

I was excited about going to this appointment because I have so much nausea and occasional vomiting. Dr. Finnegan said that I was not a canident for the gastric stimulator because I have taken opiods for many years for my chronic pain of CRPS and fibromialga. This really makes me wonder how many other chronic pain patients are turned away, we are still people that have symptoms from gastroparisis that are diabilitating. We are just asking for relief from the nausea and vomiting, if the stimulator doesnt work than ok but if it does help than yay call it a win. Us chronic pain patients already struggle everyday knowing there is no surgery and there is no fix and we have to live with this pain the rest of our lives to be told there may be a procedure that may help the symptoms of gastroparesis but sense you need pain medication for you to get out of bed I dont think your a good canident. Make that make sense?

After a surgical internship at UT Southwestern, he completed his general surgery residency at Memorial University Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in advanced bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
“The most rewarding aspect of surgery is to be able to improve someone's quality of life,” says Dr. Finnegan. “To be a part of their health care journey, and to see them transform through guidance and a successful operation is extremely rewarding.”
Throughout his educational career, he received numerous awards and honors for his dedication and performance. He specializes in advanced minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, including robotic surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, bariatric surgery, and foregut surgery.
“Minimally invasive surgical approaches provide a tremendous benefit to our patients including smaller incisions, less post-operative pain and faster return to work,” “I use robotic surgery for numerous operations such as weight loss surgery, complex hernia repairs, and abdominal wall reconstruction through just three to six small incisions”.
Dr. Finnegan and his wife, Mary, live in Savannah with their French bulldog, Bentley. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, exercise, and traveling.
