Dr. Bhattacharyya is a Board Certified Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip surgery and fracture care. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University, he attended the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Boston University and a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
He performs over 350 surgeries per year and specializes in diseases of the hip. Dr. Bhattacharyya has experience with hip arthritis, hip dysplasia, hip socket fractures, and revision hip surgery. His research and clinical work focus on using anterior hip replacement to expand the option for patients with hip problems. His areas of expertise include fracture care, pelvis and acetabulum injuries, management of complex and nonunion fractures, and anterior hip replacements.

First time meeting Dr. Bhattacharyya, his demeanor was very professional but also very personal, and accommodating. My husband and I went to Madrid. The first night I slipped on an incline cobblestone sidewalk, and fractured my knee. Ended up ambulance/ER casted for fractured knee. Three orthopedic Drs told me wear a cast for 4 weeks and I’ll be fine. I am so glad we came to Dr.B and received a second opinion. We never saw the x-rays in Spain, but the x-ray at the office detailed more than a hairline fracture as the Drs in Spain told us. Dr.B seemed like a very upfront Dr, very transparent and very informative. I am scheduled for surgery in four days. After meeting Dr.B, I am confident he is the perfect Dr for me. I am looking forward to healing, restoration, and recovery.
I am 79 and Dr. Tim replaced my full left hip (ball and socket) and now, three months later, I am walking around unaided, almost like there was no disastrous fall. He’s good!, Very good!!
Great experience for anterior hip replacement. Was back on my feet and no restrictions in 2 weeks. No problems encountered during recovery.
Dr. Battacharya listened to my concerns and answered my questions. We discussed possible surgeries, but the decision is up to me.
