Dr. Thomas Thomasson is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and specializes in trauma surgery and joint replacement, including anterior hip replacement and robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, he began his college education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He continued his education at Vanderbilt and earned his medical degree in 2004. Dr. Thomasson completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at the University of Minnesota Regions Hospital in St. Paul Minnesota. He has also received extensive training by Dr. Peter Cole, a leading expert in scapula fracture repair. Dr. Thomasson’s honors and awards include the Thomas C. and Pauline C. Butler Academic Scholarship, the Tennessee Medical Education Scholarship, sophomore acceptance to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and inclusion in Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, merit-based. He has extensive research experience and is a member of several professional societies.

Excellent!
Dr. Thomasson was an hour late for my appointment with no apology or explanation. While I understand some doctors can be quickly called away for more urgent issues, and I respect that, he could have been a little more respectful of my time.
Great communication
Helpful and understanding of the multiple health issues of patient. Assist with insurance approval of treatment plan.
He was very understanding, but Toc sent me to wrong doctor, Thomasson does hip, knees and shoulders. I have a stress fracture in my foot.
He is the best doctor!!!!!!!!
