Dr. Thomas Thomasson is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and specializes in trauma surgery and joint replacement, including anterior hip replacement and robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, he began his college education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He continued his education at Vanderbilt and earned his medical degree in 2004. Dr. Thomasson completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at the University of Minnesota Regions Hospital in St. Paul Minnesota. He has also received extensive training by Dr. Peter Cole, a leading expert in scapula fracture repair. Dr. Thomasson’s honors and awards include the Thomas C. and Pauline C. Butler Academic Scholarship, the Tennessee Medical Education Scholarship, sophomore acceptance to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and inclusion in Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, merit-based. He has extensive research experience and is a member of several professional societies.

The doctor ie easy to understand & speak with. He takes a genuine interest in his patients (with me he did). Dr. Thomasson also did an outstanding surgery in repairing my knee!
Well, I just found out I need a new knee Replacement. Dr Thomasson informed me of that today . He explained to Me by showing pictures of my X-rays and being 75 I feel it’s better for me now to have the surgery. I feel confident n having Dr. Thomasson as my surgeon and pray that all goes well.
Very efficient. Shots were ready and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes
