(Continued from check in below) I was prepared to really unload on him. When he came in, he never asked how I was doing. He came in said this will be quick all we need to do is decide what you want to do about the other eye. So, I am unloading now. I hate your kiosks. When I was manually checked in apparently, I was not checked in! I wasted an hour waiting. Two people did not appear to have any idea why I was here. All in all, I felt pretty damn insignificant and that is not the takeaway you want patients to have!! I still believe in Eye-Q and will no doubt still have Dr. Shute do the surgery in my left eye fairly soon. I hope my next visit goes a LOT better!

Dr. Thomas Shute, M.D. is a partner and fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon at EYE-Q Vision Care. Dr. Shute’s family has been providing eye care to the people of the San Joaquin Valley for four generations.
A native of Clovis, Dr. Shute graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School before joining the Leon S. Peters Honors Program at Fresno City College. After two years at Fresno City, he earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of California, San Diego. He completed medical training at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Following his internship at Travis Air Force Base, Dr. Shute served four years as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force. He completed ophthalmology residency as well as a fellowship in glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Shute offers the full complement of micro-invasive glaucoma treatment techniques, in addition to traditional glaucoma surgeries. His practice also focuses on the surgical management of cataracts, utilizing the most advanced methods and intraocular lens implants available today.
In his free time, Dr. Shute enjoys snow skiing, hiking, fishing, and surfing. He is a passionate supporter of Fresno State athletics and proudly represents the Red Wave wherever he travels. He is excited to offer cutting-edge cataract and glaucoma treatment options to his friends and neighbors in the Central California community.
