Thomas Wesley Mitchell, MD

Dr. Thomas Wesley Mitchell, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity conditions. With expertise ranging from complex reconstructive procedures to minimally invasive treatments, he is dedicated to restoring function and improving quality of life for patients with injuries or conditions of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity.

Dr. Mitchell earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and pursued fellowship training in Hand and Microsurgery at UCLA.

During his residency at Baylor, Dr. Mitchell received the Bronze Hammer Award, a prestigious honor not presented every year. This award recognizes exceptional residents who embody the core values of orthopedic surgery: honesty, respect, selflessness, integrity, and innovative patient care. It also provides recipients with funding to further their orthopedic education and research.

At Everett Bone & Joint, Dr. Mitchell brings these foundational values into every patient interaction. He believes the best outcomes start with listening to patients, understanding their goals, and creating a treatment plan grounded in both expertise and empathy.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Mitchell enjoys hiking, surfing, running, and traveling. These activities keep him connected to the outdoors and remind him of the importance of the work he does.
