Dr. Thomas McNally attended the prestigious Dartmouth College, where he received his undergraduate degree. He continued his studies at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where he received his Medical Doctor degree. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and an Orthopaedics Spine Fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Mc Nally then completed a fellowship in comprehensive spinal care at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center as well as a fellowship in Pediatric Spine and Scoliosis Management from Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Chicago. Additionally, during his fellowships and residencies, Dr. McNally was a White House Fellows Regional Panelist, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and was awarded Most Outstanding Resident Clinical Research Presentation at the 8th Annual Charles B. Huggins Surgical Research Conference. Dr. McNally is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedics Surgery. He is a member of the National Association of Spine Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedics Surgery, and the North American Spine Society. Dr. McNally has lectured on various topics including minimally invasive surgeries, balloon kyphoplasty, Scoli Score, and X-Stop procedures. Dr. McNally is renowned for his minimally invasive procedures as well as cutting-edge surgeries. He has several studies published in professional publications including the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Journal of Hand Surgery, Current Opinions in Orthopaedics, and Euro Spine 2001: Proceedings of the Third Annual Meeting of the Spine Society of Europe. Subsequently, Dr. McNally has presented his surgical techniques and studies at professional symposiums and conferences to promote continuing education for hospitals throughout the Chicago land area. Dr. McNally is a known expert of the Balloon Kyphoplasty, iO-Flex technology, and is one of the only local doctors who performs the Scoli Score test to determine the severity of a diagnosed adolescent with scoliosis and create a necessary treatment plan based off of a DNA test. A procedure used by Dr. McNally is new, minimally invasive, and life-changing. The iFuse Implant System, developed by SI-Bone, Inc., of San Jose, California. In October 2016, the president of SI-Bone, as well as a few other surgeons went in front of HCSC/Blue Cross/Blue Shield Administration and medical doctors and presented data on iFuse and the outcomes they had seen over the past eight years. They fought for their patients to get covered – and now it’s exclusively covered by Suburban Orthopaedics. Dr. McNally stands out as a chief surgeon in his field.
