Dr. Thomas Bernasek is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and fellowship trained in adult reconstruction. Prior to becoming a founding member of Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Bernasek received his medical training at the Creighton University College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, and completed his orthopedic residency training at the University of New Mexico. After residency, Dr. Bernasek completed a fellowship in joint replacement and adult reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
He is known nationally and internationally as an expert in joint replacement with vast experience in total hip and knee replacement. His articles have been published in numerous professional journals, and he has presented research papers and lectured at medical conferences on the national and international level for over a decade. He maintains active involvement in numerous orthopedic research and development projects and has served as an Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Bernasek served as the President of Hillsborough County Medical Association.

Dr. Bernasek is simply the best! Every time I see him he is so pleasant and professional. Gives you his undivided attention and answers all questions you may have. I totally trust his opinion and wouldn’t go to anybody else!

I have been a patient of this doctor since 2017. I live in Sebring & I feel that it's important to make the drive to see this doctor for my care. I did not appreciate having one of his associates, I believe his name was Dr Smith, come in & talk to me as the doctor of my appt. When I make a n appointment w/ a doctor I expect it to be the doctor I made the appt with. If the practice is too busy & they need to reschedule me so that I am able to see MY doctor ¬ someone else, than it is on the practice make sure that happens. I did not have my daughter take a day off of work so that I could follow up w/ Dr. Bernasek only to see another doctor &then have to ask for Dr. Bernasek. My biggest concern is that the first doctor that came a& saw me said he wanted to see me in 3 months & when I mentioned that to Dr. Bernasek to make sure that I saw him & not the other doctor, he had a look of surprise on his face & said no, come back in 24 months. Don't take advantage of the elderly.
