He graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Thomas Barros, D.O., is a board-certified pediatrician who brings more than a decade of pediatric medical experience, along with an extensive career serving in the United States Navy. He most recently served as a Staff Pediatrician at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, where he provided pediatric care to military families and their children.
Dr. Barros earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, and completed his pediatric residency training at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Prior to medical school, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Campbell University with a degree in Health Science.
Throughout his military medical career, Dr. Barros has served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including positions at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. His service also includes specialized leadership roles as a Senior Medical Officer with Naval Special Warfare Group Two and an Undersea Medical Officer and Medical Clinic Department Head with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit Two.
In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Barros has contributed to pediatric research and case presentations in areas including pediatric otolaryngology and complex pediatric conditions.
