Dr. Thomas Barbour is an elbow, hand and wrist specialist who graduated from Spring Hill College with a bachelor’s degree in biology and received his medical degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Dr. Barbour completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga and Erlanger. He also completed his fellowship training in hand and microvascular surgery at Duke University School of Medicine.
Dr. Barbour is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in reconstructive surgery of the elbow, wrist, and hand. He also specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the elbow and wrist as well as endoscopic carpal tunnel release.
Dr. Barbour offers a minimally invasive procedure—TENEX Health TX—in which he can break up and remove damaged tissue, which is the cause of most chronic tendon-related pain related to Golfer’s or Tennis elbow. This advanced technique, developed in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, leaves healthy, soft tissue undisturbed. It takes only a few minutes, and no sutures or stitches are needed.

Very professional and friendly
I really like Dr. Barbour
Wonderful Doctor. Very personable and trust him completely with my issues. Gives me injections for trigger finger and it’s over before I know needle is in!
Awesome Dr. Barbour explained every option, he gave me a cortisone injection and a brace. He has the most efficient run office I’ve ever seen.
