I wish I wouldn’t have wasted my time today! I’m also out a $60 copay as well as gas to come from out of town! First, I let the nurse know about the progression of my Dupuytren’s before he came in. He was in a hurry to leave the time he came in. He said there is nothing that can done and he barely even looked at my hand. I thought I may get a steroid injection to slow the progression and he said he couldn’t do anything. I know this is a nonsurgical treatment that is used. He stayed in the room no more than a minute. He showed no concern and I was very disappointed.

Dr Barbour is a more than excellent orthopedic doctor. We appreciated everything he did, and his attitude was awesome.

He is not for patients he is there for Workmans Comp. I went to private Dr with pain I have had and complaint that have had for over 2 yrs. He did not even refer me within your office. Went to other doctor had all test done and had to have shoulder surgery. I truly believe the wrong surgery was performed by this Dr because Workmans Comp wanted to believe my problem was in elbow not shoulder. I had worse problems after my elbow surgery was performed until after the shoulder surgery at that point my elbow pain lessened. as much as I told both him and Eslava it was my internal external arm movement that was my complaint from day one at no time was it ever documented about my shoulder. Very disappointed. Never had an attorney or asked for any help through all this and then had to hire one just to get treatment is very sad. Hope that some day your doctors will care about patients instead of influence of a company making financial decisions for them.

I felt very belittled and like my concerns were not valid when I spoke with Dr. Barbour. He hardly asked me any questions about my pain and walked out abruptly as if he didn’t have time to deal with me. I did not appreciate being written off or being spoken to as if I am an idiot. I will be seeking a second opinion because I genuinely don’t feel that I received the best evaluation (if any at all) for my ailment.

The wait was long(almost an hour, maybe I’m spoiled),) but the staff was kind. That helped. Dr Barbour was knowledgeable, blunt, and had observed my xrays. He laid out the facts and that was pretty much it. I feel sure that I’ll return primarily because I’ve done my research and think that would be my best chance at recovering to best as possible function as I will ever have. It sounds so simple to say but ‘kindness is free’ and my other mantra is to ‘remember, everyone you come in contact with every single day is fighting some type of battle...remember that’ be nice.

This dr came highly recommended but I was a little disappointed in his lack of bedside manner. He came into the room with a diagnosis prior to ever inspecting or speaking to me. He was very dismissive and flippant. As a health Care provider myself I would never treat my patients like that. Each patient deserves consideration especially considering they waited almost 2 hours for their small 5-10 min slot. I definitely will not return nor will I refer any of my patients to him.

As a general dentist with several medical issues, Dr Barbour did wrist and finger surgery that helped prolong my career by 10 years. He did a steroid injection in my left elbow yesterday and one in my right elbow 12 years ago. He is a great surgeon.
