Dr. Teddy’s Medical Training and Experience
Dr Teddy has practiced medicine in the USA for over a decade but his international heart is an integral part of his journey. Dr. Teddy was born and raised in Ethiopia, where he earned his Medical Doctorate, and then went on to study in Europe, where he completed public health and Infectious disease trainings in Belgium.
After his studies, Dr. Teddy’s passions for public health and for using medicine to improve the well being of people from all nations of the world literally led him around the world. He decided to use his training to serve others and worked internationally for six years for Doctors Without Borders in various Asian and African countries.
In 2008, Dr. Teddy moved to the USA and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Alameda Health System in California in 2011. He decided to apply all he learned internationally first among those in relative need among us here in the United States by working with a patient population where 40% are recipients of either Medicare or Medicaid.
In 2015, he and his family moved to Katy where he learned the Texas medical system, and how to best serve the medical needs of those here in Texas. At the same time, Dr. Teddy’s unique background marked him for life and set him apart as being an extra compassionate physician, according to former medical coworkers of his here in Texas. His years of experience practicing medicine internationally and among diverse populations also shaped his perspective on the importance of holistic medicine, which he continues to use as his framework to this day.
Dr. Teddie and all his staff at Zion Urgent Care are great care givers. The office staff is well organized and familiar with the insurance billing and are friendly. The nurses are also kind and very knowledgeable. Dr. Teddie is a great doctor who is very caring and knowledgeable. He is very personable and shows concern for his patients. They also call you back within a day or so to make sure the medicine is helping you. The Zion Urgent Care waiting area has very pleasant and peaceful Christian music playing and helps you to relax. I would definitely highly recommend Zion Urgent Care and Dr. Teddie to anyone. They take exceptional care of you there.
Nice Doctor . He is very kind and caring. However, He prescribed Cipro which I have an adverse reaction to. Cipro gives me a yeast infection for 6 months every time. When I must take Cipro because there is no other alternative, I am prescribed 500 mg twice daily. A 250 mg dose twice daily does nothing. I left messages many times and spoke to Julie, the office manager, many times. No one ever called me back about my concerns . No one changed the script. Not helpful. Absolutely irritating. If adverse reactions and allergies don’t matter why did this office bother to collect that information? Once again, a doctor blew me off and ignored anything I said. I now have a kidney infection.
Extremely good doctor.
Doctor teddy is always the most wonderful, clear.Cut, easy.Spoken best and better than doctor I have ever had.before.
Dr. Teddy is the BEST! We are very blessed to be in his care. We would highly recommend him to any of our family or friends. He is the best diagnostician we have ever known, and he always takes a great deal of time to explain everything thoroughly to us.
Very kind, caring and responsive.
Very professional, courteous, listens to patient's med problems, prompt RX submission to drug store. He is a 10, in my opinion. however, this rating chart only uses the 5 star.
