Dr. Teri Geist, OD is a comprehensive optometrist who specializes in routine and problem-focused eye examinations, pediatric eye care, urgent eye care, and pre- and post-operative examinations.
Dr. Geist was raised in western Nebraska. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and her doctor of optometry degree from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. While at Pacific University, Dr. Geist completed an externship at the Portland VA Medical Center and was active in contact lens research. Dr. Geist worked in a rural-based vision care practice in South Dakota immediately after her graduation in 1996 and joined Midwest Eye Care in 1997.
Dr. Geist is licensed for the practice of optometry by the state examining boards of Nebraska and Iowa. She is a member of both the Nebraska Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is a past president for the Nebraska Optometric Association. She provides volunteer services for the Nebraska Optometric Association “See to Learn” program and the Hope Medical Outreach Coalition.
Dr. Geist received the “Young Optometrist of the Year” award from the Nebraska Optometrist Association in 2001; the same group bestowed the “Optometrist of the Year Award” on Dr. Geist in 2005.
Waiting OVER 2 hours for the doctor to come into the room. We were one of 2 rooms waiting for the doctor when we got there, and when we left no other patients were in rooms, nobody in waiting room, everyone was gone for lunch break. And when the doctor finally came in, her response was “sorry I’m late I went into other rooms first to get them in and out quick since there are two of you in this room to be seen” Completely disregarding my time, my husbands time who had to take time off work to watch our sick kid at home, and acting like it’s okay to make my daughter and wait longer for her since there was two of us to be seen in a room… even though we had appts. So upsetting.

Dr Geist has always been very personable and through in her examination of my eyes and explanations of her findings.
I love Teri. Her assistants are very friendly and professional. My only concern is the tardiness of appointment time. I’m usually at least half an hour late.
She is the best eye dr in town!
It was a good session. I always enjoy her straightforward approach. Dr. Geist discussed cataract info. and that at this point, it’s looking like that is the next step.
Very knowledgeable and personable. Took the time to talk to me about concerns i had and what I should be concerned about over time.
