Dr. Tara Sonnanstine, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She earned a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine, furthering her expertise. In addition to sports medicine, she has experience in the fields of primary care, urgent care and concierge medicine.
Dr. Sonnanstine has lectured on sports medicine topics including proper physical exam techniques, acute sports injuries and the use of biologics in sports medicine. She has been involved in concussion and sports nutrition research and is a credentialed ImPACT consultant for concussion treatment.
Dr. Sonnanstine has been an active member of several professional medical organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine. She also serves as gratis faculty for the Tulane University School of Medicine.
For her patients, Dr. Sonnanstine believes in an individualized, comprehensive approach to medical management.
