Tanya Maagdenberg, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Tanya Maagdenberg, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., maiden name is Popova, was born and raised in Siberia, Russia. Her passion for medicine and healing developed in her childhood with the loss of her father at very early age. She received her MD degree in 1997 at the age of 24 after graduating from one of the most prestigious medical school in Russia – 1st Leningrad Medical Institute (currently named Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg). She worked as obstetrician –gynecologist for a few years in Russia prior to moving to the USA. In 2002 she was accepted to the New Jersey Medical School and completed her OB/GYN residency with honors in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries. Since joining Capital OB/GYN in 2006, Dr. Maagdenberg continues to master her medical and surgical skills. She received training in robotic surgeries (Da Vinci) and successfully performs the most advanced laparoscopic and vaginal surgeries.

Dr. Maagdenberg’s passion is Obstetrics. She truly enjoys assisting new life into the world. Dr. Maagdenberg is happily married and she has three children. Dr Maagdenberg has unique insights about her patients, and she understands the multiple demands on a woman’s life and her compassion is immediately appreciated by everyone she touches. She was recently chosen as one of the best Russian speaking obstetrician-gynecologist in Northern California by the Slavic Community.
