Takintope Akinbiyi, M.D., grew up near Toronto, Canada, and went on to attend Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He completed his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, followed by a general surgery residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he was chosen by faculty and peers to serve as administrative chief resident in his final year.

Takintope Akinbiyi, M.D., grew up near Toronto, Canada, and went on to attend Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He completed his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, followed by a general surgery residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he was chosen by faculty and peers to serve as administrative chief resident in his final year. Dr. Akinbiyi then pursued advanced plastic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, two of the nation’s most prestigious programs.
While Dr. Akinbiyi is broadly trained in aesthetic surgery and general reconstruction, his expertise is especially focused on breast procedures, including reconstruction, reductions, and augmentation. He has assisted many patients with revision surgeries to correct unsatisfactory outcomes from prior cosmetic or reconstructive breast procedures and is highly experienced in breast fat grafting, whether for augmentation, following implant removal, or after mastectomy. In addition, Dr. Akinbiyi is skilled in body contouring for patients with significant skin redundancy after massive weight loss. His experience includes arm lifts (brachioplasty), thigh lifts (thighplasty), abdominoplasty, and comprehensive body lifts that enhance both the front and back in a single procedure. He is also well-versed in facial rejuvenation, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatments to achieve natural, refreshed results.
Dr. Akinbiyi’s research interests focus on surgical innovation and improving clinical outcomes. He has authored nearly 15 manuscripts, served as a reviewer for leading journals in the field of plastic surgery, and presented his work at local, regional, and national conferences. His contributions to the specialty have been recognized with several prestigious awards and research grants.

Dr. Akinbiyi was very professional and informative. I had a partial lumpectomy in March and didn’t want to do implants. We discussed a fat transfer to the breast just to regain symmetry in the breast and add some volume. I had the surgery and procedure went very well. I’m one week out and can’t wait to see the end results of the transfer and discuss next steps
Dr. Akinbiyi has very good bedside manner and explained the procedure completely. His office staff is great. I will return to Advanced Aesthestics for any future procedures.
Dr Akinbiyi and his office provided excellent care before, during and after my procedure. I'm very happy with the outcome. I was very nervous about having this procedure and was glad he was my surgeon. He was attentive to my expectations while also telling me what I needed to hear and what to expect.
