Takintope Akinbiyi, M.D., grew up near Toronto, Canada, and went on to attend Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Dr. Akinbiyi then pursued advanced plastic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, two of the nation’s most prestigious programs.
While Dr. Akinbiyi is broadly trained in aesthetic surgery and general reconstruction, his expertise is especially focused on breast procedures, including reconstruction, reductions, and augmentation. He has assisted many patients with revision surgeries to correct unsatisfactory outcomes from prior cosmetic or reconstructive breast procedures and is highly experienced in breast fat grafting, whether for augmentation, following implant removal, or after mastectomy. In addition, Dr. Akinbiyi is skilled in body contouring for patients with significant skin redundancy after massive weight loss.
