She completed Medical School, her Internship, & Residency at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, and her Allergy & Immunology Fellowship at University of Michigan Hospitals and Clinics in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Hungness is board-certified in Allergy & Immunology.
Dr. Hungness enjoys helping patients to further understand and more successfully manage their medical issues to help them feel better. As the mother of a child with eczema and food allergies, she understands the challenges that come with managing such conditions.
For fun, Dr. Hungness enjoys hiking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her husband and two young children.

I work in a healthcare office and have certain expectations. I drove over an hour for this appointment. I was made to feel stupid for researching the symptoms I have had for several months. I was at my wits end and wanted to explore allergy/immunology causes. I have the right to advocate for my own health. What Dr Hungness said was contrary to all of my research on MCAS. And no, not just ChatGPT/Google but scholarly publications. Including that a Tryptase test isn’t always diagnostic. My research said tissue samples are the gold standard. They did some prick tests and intradermal allergy tests. I was given a description of my allergies but no list of what type of grass, mold, trees, etc. The results of my breathing tests were also not provided and not included in the paperwork I was given. No one went over my AVS at discharge. She mentioned she may look into another “cause” depending on the results of my Tryptase test, but didn’t say what.
She always takes time to listen and I never feel rushed or unimportant. Plus she’s just very nice and personable! She gives me practical info about tests and meds so I have all the data for a decision.
