Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Dr. Hungness graduated summa cum laude from the University of Iowa. She completed Medical School, her Internship, & Residency at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, and her Allergy & Immunology Fellowship at University of Michigan Hospitals and Clinics in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Hungness is board-certified in Allergy & Immunology.
Dr. Hungness enjoys helping patients to further understand and more successfully manage their medical issues to help them feel better. As the mother of a child with eczema and food allergies, she understands the challenges that come with managing such conditions.
For fun, Dr. Hungness enjoys hiking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her husband and two young children.

I so enjoy each visit with Dr. Hungness. Each time I see her, she is just full of knowledge about my issues. Any question I have, it take no time at all for her to answer my questions. Thank you for being such a caring doctor!
I was a little nervous at first and Dr. Hungness seems rushed initially but once we started talking more, it set me at ease. She’s very knowledgeable and informative. Her medical assistant (David) did a great job as well.

Susan is one the best Doctors I have ever seen! She is personable and along with the other staff at Southpark made me feel at ease. She is also really cool and should be given a raise for being on top of everything!
