Originally from Ohio, Dr. Claytor-Caldwell has been a South Carolina resident since 1976. She received her B.S. degree for the University of South Carolina and her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She returned to Columbia for her pediatric training at Palmetto Richland Memorial Children's Hospital where she also served as Chief Resident of Pediatrics. She is board certified through the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Medical Association, Columbia Medical Society, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has participated in the pediatric training program at Prisma Health Children's Hospital for over three decades as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics. In addition to her expertise in well child care and routine pediatric disorders, Dr. Claytor-Caldwell has a special interest in multiple birth families, adolescent medicine and ADHD.
Dr. Claytor-Caldwell is married and has five daughters including a set of twins and seven grandchildren (and still counting). Outside of the practice of medicine her personal interests include family, church, medical missions, gardening and beekeeping.
