Sumit A. Walia, M.D.

Dr. Sumit A. Walia, M.D. is board certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Walia is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and obtained his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He joined Digestive Disease Specialists in July 2015.

Dr. Walia has extensive training in all aspects of gastroenterology and endoscopy, including diagnosis and treatment for disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, liver, gallbladder, and colon. He has a special interest in gastroesophageal reflux, swallowing disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, viral hepatitis, Crohn’s disease & ulcerative colitis, and colorectal cancer prevention.
